Check-In/Check-Out Procedures:

  • Upon arrival or departure, please ensure your dog is on a leash. This eliminates the possibility of any conflict with other dogs.

General Hours:

  • Our office is open from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Friday (closed from 12 pm to 2 pm) and 8 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. We are open on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for boarding pick-ups only. We suggest dropping off your dog(s) as early as possible, so they have time to play before bedtime. Our Pet Care Attendants are here caring for dogs 365 days per year; however, Boarding Bungalow is closed to the public on the following days: Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. We close early on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Late Fees:

  • We allow a five-minute grace period after closing time.  15 minutes after closing we assume that your dog is staying the night and will make the necessary arrangements. You will be charged for boarding for that night

What to bring and what not to bring:

  • Please bring your dog’s food, pre-packaged in disposable bags, and correctly portioned for each meal. Label meals if there are any differences in the meals. We’re happy to accommodate dogs who are on a raw or other special diet.
  • Bring any medications, vitamins, or supplements, in the original bottle if l possible. We’re able to give oral and topical medications only. There is no charge for dispensing medications. You may bring bedding as it is machine washable and has your name on it in permanent marker. You may also want to bring an article of your clothing. If your dog has a favorite chew toy, you may bring that as well as long as it’s not a squeaker toy. Please do not bring any rawhides or other toys that may be a choking hazard or food bowls. Any questions, just ask!
  • Please bring along any treats your dog is accustomed to. We do have a variety of dog treats available at our kennel, however, if they have allergies, are on a special diet, or are picky eaters, it's best to have their own treats to enjoy.
  • NO GLASS CONTAINERS OR GLASS MEASURING SCOOPS/CUPS, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS.

How to book a service:

  • We accept reservations by phone or email or online via the website or mobile app. We highly recommend you download the mobile app to manage your account with Boarding Bungalow. If requesting a reservation via email or website, please understand that your reservation is not considered booked until you have received a confirmation from us. If you have not heard from us within 24 hours of your request, please give us a call.
  • All reservations require a 50% deposit that is not refundable but will stay as credit.

How Far In Advance to Reserve:

  • Our boarding typically books up on busy weekends, major holidays and throughout the summer so we suggest that you book your boarding reservation at least three to four weeks in advance. Training appointments fill up about two weeks out for Saturdays.

Policies to reduce stress-related illness:

  • For boarding on major holidays (defined as Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year’s) customers are required to have boarded or attended daycare at least three separate times in the previous 12 months.
  • If your dog hasn’t boarded with us or attended daycare within the past year, a new social evaluation is required if you want your dog to be with other dogs.
  • If your dog is aggressive toward people, the first boarding stay must include training so that we can help your dog adjust to the new environment.

Deposits:

  • We require a $50% non-refundable deposit. If you cancel within our cancellation policy, we will keep the credit on your account for one year. Any cancellation outside of our policy forfeits half of your deposit. All training appointments are prepaid. If a training appointment is canceled within our policy period, we will apply the funds to a new appointment date; any cancellation outside of our cancellation policy forfeits monies paid.
  • There is a 3-night minimum stay over major holidays. This is the day before, the day of, and the day after the holiday. (July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year’s)

Cancellation Policy:

  • In general, boarding reservations may be canceled at any time without penalty except for peak days and holidays (reservations requiring a deposit). These reservations must be canceled 5 days ahead of the check-in date and the deposit will be applied to future services at Boarding Bungalow. Reservations canceled with less than 5 days’ notice forfeits 75% of the deposit. The remainder will be placed as credit.
  • Training Services must be canceled or rescheduled at least 72 hours prior to the appointment. Services canceled with less than 72 hours’ notice forfeit a 50% deposit, and a credit will be applied.

Food:

  • Bringing your own dog’s food is optional but encouraged. We are happy to feed our house kibble at a rate of $4/meal. If bringing your own food, we do require that each meal be pre-packed in a Ziploc bag with your dog’s name clearly marked on each bag (black Sharpie works best).
  • For extended stays (over two weeks), we understand that pre-bagging 30 or so meals can be time-consuming so you can simply bring their food in an air-tight container. Please do not bring large bags of dog food. You can pick up airtight containers at Target or Walmart or we will provide one for you and add it to your invoice and it will be yours to keep. Please remember to note exactly how much they are fed for each meal.
  • If you are leaving town in a hurry and do not have time to pre-bag, we will pre-bag your food to your specifications (e.g. one cup AM, one cup PM) for a total cost of $15 per dog.

Own Belongings:

  • We provide blankets and fleeces for all dogs as well as Kuranda dog beds. You are welcome to bring your dog’s bedding from home but please understand we cannot guarantee the safe return of any bedding as it may get chewed, wet, or mixed up with our bedding. We cannot accept foam beds or towels. We want to send your bedding home clean so any personal bedding must fit into our washer. Please let us know if you do not want your bedding washed.
  • Please do not bring dinner bowls
  • Toys are welcome but they will not go into playgroups. We are happy to give them to your dog in bed at night or during the day if your dog is not playing with other dogs. We cannot guarantee their safe return, however.
  • Please label everything with your dog’s name
  • We do not feed rawhide as it presents health risks to dogs.

Behavior Evaluations & Social Time:

  • If you wish for your dog to play with other dogs, either at daycare or during a boarding visit, we do require an evaluation.
  • We prefer to do the behavior evaluation prior to your boarding stay. The first day of daycare is free so we encourage you to leave your dog for part or all day so that we can get to know your dog better and best determine the appropriate play group.
  • If your dog is not able to enjoy our group activities or if you prefer that your dog not be with other dogs, we will provide private play, fetch walks and other activities to ensure plenty of attention and exercise is received. We offer Add-On services and activities for an additional charge.
  • If you do not want your dog with other dogs, for whatever reason, a behavior evaluation is not necessary.

Payments Accepted:

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express
  • We accept cash and credit card payments in person, over the phone, and on online where your information is securely saved for your convenience.
  • Checks are not accepted.

Vaccination Requirements:

  • We accept puppies after they have received their second set of vaccines. Puppies over 4-1/2 months of age must also have received the rabies vaccine. We will accept geriatric dogs without health issues
  • We require all dogs to have their Bordetella (required every 6 months) DHPP distemper and rabies to enter the facility and to have any spa services performed.

Health Screening:

  • If your dog has contracted any contagious disease, we require that s/he be off medications for 10 days and receive a clean bill of health from your veterinarian before returning to Crossroads.
  • If your dog exhibits any vomiting and/or diarrhea or just seems “off”, we ask that you keep your dog at home until symptoms have cleared.
  • If uninformed about sickness prior to dropping off and finding out after and risks other dog's health. Further evaluation will proceed of the situation and discuss actions going forward.

  • Parents will provide all needed medication in a prescribed medication bottle with detailed instructions on the time and amount to administer. Staff are to follow instructions directly and make sure to sign off on a sheet.

Exercise and Playtime

  •  Indoor- Pets stay in a suite between each walk and at night. They can be placed with family or separately.
  • Outdoor- The pets get group or solo play depending on evaluation or request. We take the dogs out 6 times a day each lasting 10 min or longer depending on the weather.

Behavior Guidelines

  • As a small facility with personal attention for each dog, we will determine on a daily basis who we believe your dog can play with. We base this on several factors, including size, age, play style, and more. If your dog isn’t friendly with other dogs, there’s no need to worry! He will still get lots of outdoor playtime with our staff. There’s also no need to be concerned if your dog is one of the “restricted” breeds. We do not breed restrictions and will take any dog (even those who are “in-tact”) as long as they are not aggressive towards people.

Privacy and Security

  • All pet and client information is stored in a safe software app. All updates on clients' and pet's information will be done from such an app via the customer. To ensure customers' comfort we have security cameras.
  • This shop doesn't have safety sprinklers

  • If any items belonging to you and your dog are left behind, we will contact you and allow 30 days for the items to be picked up.  We are happy to send to you if requested.

Staff Training

  • Our new hires are fully trained prior to handling our Boarding Bungalow guests. Training involves a comprehensive video course, testing and hands-on work with our staff. New hires must pass our curriculum course before they are able to work directly on their own with the pups.

Inclement Weather Plan:

  • If not able to drive to our facility, please make sure to call ahead of time. During freezing weather employees will be sleeping at the shop to make sure pets and employees are safe.
  • During the hot times, we make sure dogs aren't exposed to hot surfaces as we spray the yard and have plenty of shade.
